7 Trumpets – Part 1: The Great Escrow Closing

The 7 Trumpets of Revelation 8 – 9 and the events they usher in, begin the process of Jesus returning to earth to reclaim this world from Satan and his minions, and setting up the 1000-year Kingdom that will encompass the 7th Dispensation.

Why haven’t I posted in so long?

Before we get started, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the long delay between this blog post and my last one, which was about 10 months ago (!).

There were a few reasons for the time gap, but a big part of it was the subject matter of the posts I published in 2016 and early 2017. To paraphrase C. S. Lewis when he commented on his state of mind while writing the demonically focused “Screwtape Letters”, I’ve never written with so much ease…or with so much difficulty.

It was easy because the subject matter – Satan’s False Apocalypse, the Four Horsemen of Revelation 6, and The Antichrist – was very familiar to me.

Having been a prophecy buff since I was a kid. I’d been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to publish my thoughts and theories on these topics since I started the blog.

But spending over a year delving into the dark side took an unexpected mental and spiritual toll on me. By the time I published the last post on the Mark of the Beast, I was in severe need of a break.

At the same time, I was launching the Faith By Reason podcast, and that was taking up a lot of my spare time. Moreover, doing the podcasts brought me a lot of joy, as it allowed me to verbally expound on many of the topics that led me to start the blog in the first place.

It’s also been very popular and I’ve gotten a lot of feedback – good and bad. The “bad” mostly coming from atheists who were upset about the evolution series. This allowed me to engage in one of my favorite pastimes: making atheists feel stupid(er).

All these factors led to the blog being put on the back burner. However, I’ve heard from many of you over the past year telling me how much you’ve missed the blog. So I apologize for the delay. One of my New Years resolutions is to blog more frequently. And with the topics shifting to more positive topics like the return of Christ and the judgment of evil, I’ll be in a better frame of mind, so you can expect more posts. But expect them to be a bit shorter to fit into my bloated schedule.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program…

In the previous posts, we looked at how the 6 seals of Relation 6 were actually a “Mini-Dispensation” wherein Satan and his minions had their opportunity to fully implement their kingdom on earth through a false apocalypse, a false messiah, and a false salvation. With secular man failing the dispensation by accepting the Antichrist and his Mark, Man has gotten his final failing grade and now its time for Jesus to step in and stake his claim to the earth.

The Great Escrow Closing

Jesus actually gained legal rights to this world when He defeated Satan at the Cross by reversing the actions that caused Adam to lose his rulership. But after He was resurrected, when He went to Heaven to prepare an abode for His Bride. During this time, the displaced ruler of the world (Satan) has been acting as a squatter; continuing to rule and assert his illegitimate authority.

The Title Deed which Jesus took from the Father in Revelation 5 is His claim, and the 7 Trumpets begin the process of Jesus kicking the squatters out, and taking back what is His. It’s a lot like to escrow process.

When my wife and I bought our current home, we went through the process of finding what we wanted, finding out the costs associated, proving we had the qualifications for the purchase, and then paying the price. But after paying the price, we weren’t IMMEDIATELY allowed to occupy our home.

We went through another process called “escrow”, wherein certain condition had to be met before we could claim the property we legally owned (termite inspections, Title search, etc). But once escrow “closed” we could take possession.

It’s the same with Jesus, except He’s been in escrow for 2000 years instead of our relatively innocuous 30 days. During His escrow period (The Church age), His own version of termites (Satan) had a field day with His property.

But now its time to open up a can of spiritual insecticide and kick the usurpers out. That starts with the 7 Trumpets.

So when does this all happen?

There is some controversy as to WHEN the Trumpet “Judgments” happen (I put “judgment” in quotes because I don’t think it’s entirely accurate to label them that way even though that is how they are presented by many commentators. I’ll explain it two posts from now), but I believe that they happened at the mid-point of the so-called Tribulation – right at the start of the second 3 ½ years of the 7-year period.

Why? Because as we’ve seen in earlier posts, the mid-point is where the Antichrist declares himself to be God, receives a fatal head wound, and is “resurrected” as Nimrod 2.0. He then introduces his Mark to the public.

Whoever takes his Mark has definitively chosen Satan’s false salvation over the true Salvation of Christ (and most of the world will). At this point, God can justly start to close escrow on the secular world.

What’s the point of the 7 Trumpets?

The Trumpets usher in some truly cataclysmic events that will tremendously affect everyone on earth. Many commentators call them “The Trumpet Judgments”, but I don’t.

The reason I don’t call the events of the 7 Trumpets “judgments” is because their purpose isn’t to judge the world (that comes later with the 7 Bowl of Wrath, which we will discuss after this series). The Trumpets are intended to break down the “walls” that the demonic squatters have erected around Jesus’ property. Or more accurate, the Trumpets are meant to smash the “Gates of Hell”, giving Jesus a clear path to retake the Kingdom.

We will do a detailed examination of the 7 Trumpet “judgments” two posts from now, but, it’s interesting to note that as devastating as the Trumpets are, they don’t affect the whole Earth. The first four Trumpet blasts only affect one-third of the earth’s vegetation, seas, fresh water, and celestial light. It’s as if, as an act of great mercy, God is saying “you deserve complete devastation, but I’m holding back some of it to give you one last (undeserved) opportunity to turn back to me.

This is likely an even more poignant message to unbelieving Israel, who’ve just seen the being they THOUGHT was their Messiah, show his true nature. Now they are finally seeing the power of the true God.

And it gets worse…

The fifth and sixth trumped ramp up the suffering considerably with some sort of demonic locust-like creatures torment people for five months, followed by the release of demented fallen Angels who blatantly slaughter 1/3 of mankind (likely hundreds of millions of people).

But even with all thee cataclysmic events, the Bible makes it clear that fallen, corrupt, man refuses to repent. Again, I don’t think they are CAPABLE of repenting at this point due to the alterations that the Mark inflicts upon them. But it should be pretty obvious to you by this point that God’s just nature dictates that He demonstrate His point to us, and these verses clearly show that those who’ve chosen Satan are irredeemable and deserve their fate.

When the walls come a’tumbling down

But why did I present the Trumpets as “breaking down” the walls and gates of the enemy? Well, one caveat that you should keep in mind when reading the events of Revelation is the quote from Amos 3:7 where God implies that He reveals, or models His prophetic events to believers ahead of time. And it turns out that there is a model of the events of the 7 Trumpets in the Old Testament – specifically in the Book of Joshua!

“Joshua” (which is literally the Hebrew translation of “Jesus”) documents how God’s Children (Israel), forcibly retake the land they legally own from satanic forces who have been squatting in the land while Israel was elsewhere (sound familiar?).

And if that wasn’t enough to convince you of the similarity, I should note that Israel begins their campaign by bringing down the walls of the main satanic stronghold with 7 trumpet blasts!

In the next post, we will look at the campaign of Joshua and how it serves as a model for the 7 Trumpets of Revelation. Stay Tuned…

Awesome! It’s great to see you writing posts again. Though I’m now grateful for the blogs too because I get a lot out of them as well in a different way.

I read three chapters from the Bible everyday and I’ve been through it several times. It just so happens that I just started Revelations as you started your posts again. Good timing.

    Thanks again!
