Apocalypse NOT! – part 3: Beware of the lamb

 THE GREAT DECEPTION

THE GREAT DECEPTION

*[see disclaimer below]

We’ve been looking at the events that accompanied breaking of the seven-sealed scroll in Revelation 6.

The classic position on Revelation 6 is that it documents the beginning of the Tribulation and God’s judgments on the world.

However in this series, I began presenting my rebuttal that the passage actually constitutes a “mini-Dispensation” consisting of a false apocalypse created by Satan to deceive the world into accepting his kingdom.

Man’s decision to accept Satan’s Kingdom (or not) will determine the success of this “dispensation”.

We’ve already examined the first five seals.  We will wrap up this series by examining the events of the 6th seal which culminates the false apocalypse and Satan’s great deception.

The final phase of the Great Deception

The breaking of the 6th seal is extraordinarily monumental, not just because of the magnitude of the events described, but by the world’s reaction to them.

The 6th seal heralds several catastrophes:

  1. There is an earthquake so massive that EVERY island and mountain on earth is moved. This means that every fault line on the planet is opened simultaneously!
  2. The sun turns black, and the moon turns the color of blood. So there are some serious events affecting the cosmos
  3. The “stars of heaven” fall to earth. We know these can’t be literal stars in outer space because a single star is millions of times bigger than the earth. Something else must be going on…
  4. The cosmos appears to “roll up like a scroll” (obviously more cosmic disturbances)

So what’s happening here? What could possibly cause all these things to happen at once?

Again, most commentators see this as a massive judgment from God, either at the beginning of the Tribulation or as a summary of later judgments.

I obviously see these events happening BEFORE the Tribulation, and I believe they describe the effects of a seminal event presented as part of the Revelation 12 narrative.

All history at once

Revelation 12 is one of the most fascinating chapters in the entire Bible, primarily because it allows us a glimpse into how God sees time.

Remember God is transcendent (outside of physical time), yet He can see history occur. So what is a timeless way of experiencing a highly complex series of events simultaneously? A story!

Revelation 12 shows all of history from God’s perspective – Eve, Israel, Satan, the Incarnation, Salvation, the ascension, the Church, the Rapture, and the Tribulation – all happening at once!

A pivotal event in this chapter is a “war in heaven” (which has been going on since the fall of Satan). Satan and his angels finally and definitively lose the war and are cast down from heaven to earth!

This is what happens at the 6th seal!!

The great eviction

Even after his fall, Satan had access to God’s throne. He is also the prince of the power of the heavens.

At some point after the Rapture and before the Tribulation, he and his angels lose that status and are permanently earthbound!

The “stars of heaven” is an angelic title.  So at the 6th seal, the fallen angels are literally cast down to earth! This is what causes the great cosmic disturbances.

[As an aside, there is another passage, which confirms the timing of all this relative to the Tribulation. The Book of Joel highlights these events and clearly states that they occur BEFORE the Day of the Lord (the Tribulation)]

Also, keep in mind that there are fallen angels bound UNDER the earth. When they are “cast down” (remember, we aren’t talking about physical direction as much as dimensionality), it will cause the great disruption under the earth that will cause worldwide earthquakes as the earth opens up to free them.

What will this event look like to people on the earth? What will the reaction be to these cataclysmic events followed by the manifestation of newly earthbound supernatural entities?

Obviously, people will be going nuts and looking for an explanation.

The thing is, Satan KNOWS these things are coming (he can read the Bible too) and will take advantage of this situation to further his deception.

Satan to the rescue!

Like Christianity, just about every non-Christian (read Satanic) religion and mystical belief system has apocalyptic mythology that culminates with the return of supernatural deities to earth to save mankind. I believe that this is how Satan will position these events to the world!

For the past several months (or years), the Four Horsemen have literally unleashed hell on earth. Now finally, our “saviors from beyond” have come to our aid.

They may cloak themselves in one of the many identities through which they’ve deceived adherents with such as the “Ascended Masters” of the New Age, the Mahdi of Islam, the “Space Brothers” of the UFO cults, or any one of the other various and sundry “gods” of old.

In all likelihood, they will claim to be some composite of ALL of them to some degree. Whatever the case, they will announce that they have come to end the suffering and defeat the “evil” that has been tormenting man, and set up a “New World Order” of peace and prosperity.

And who will they claim is the great enemy of mankind responsible for the “apocalypse” that has been occuring on the earth? JESUS!!

What’s scarier than an angry lamb?

Where did I get this idea? Look at the reaction to the events of the 6th seal:

Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the military commanders, the rich, the powerful, and every slave and free person hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of His wrath has come! And who is able to stand?” – Rev 6:15-17

At the culmination of the seals, everyone from every station of life blames the events on the “One who sits on the throne” (God), and the “wrath of the lamb” (Jesus)!

The key is the phrase “wrath of the lamb”. In EVERY other instance, righteous wrath is attributed to God the Father. Punishing sin is God’s purview as you can see throughout the apocalyptic books.

This is the ONLY passage where wrath is attributed to Jesus, and this phrase is uttered by evil men! (Note that they don’t repent of their sins, they just seek to hide from them like Adam)

Furthermore, this passage shows that these people are ignorant of who Jesus really is. The title of “lamb” is only used of Jesus in reference to is sacrificial work in the first incarnation. When He returns to claim the earth as His Kingdom, He will be a Lion, not a Lamb; a conquering King, not a suffering servant.

I believe that this phrase shows that people will be deceived into believing that what they have been experiencing is the unjust wrath of an angry and vengeful God (and the idol they call “Jesus”) whom Satan and his angels will paint as the bad guys.

The Antichrist, (who I believe will either claim to BE one of the supernatural “saviors”, or have a connection to them), will be their primary mouthpiece in a propaganda war against Heaven.

Among other things, the Bible says he will hurl accusations against God, and those who dwell in Heaven (Raptured believers). (More on him in the next post)

This isn’t unprecedented. Luciferian religions paint God as the bad guy – a petty and vengeful deity who was keeping man in a state of ignorance in the Garden until the serpent came and brought man knowledge.

He brought man light. He “illumined” man – hence the term illuminati (the enlightened ones) adopted by the mystics of the satanic elite.

God, the great deceiver??

Why will men believe the lie of the false apocalypse?

Aside from the devastation going on all around them (not to mention human nature), there is another very provocative reason people will fall for Satan’s deception…GOD WILL ENSURE IT!!

Wait, am I saying that God will intentionally deceive people into believing in the false Apocalypse?

No, I’m not saying that. The Apostle Paul is…

The coming of the lawless one (the Antichrist) is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders, and with every unrighteous deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth in order to be saved. For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe what is false, so that all will be condemned—those who did not believe the truth but enjoyed unrighteousness. – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (emphasis mine)

In this passage, Paul writes about the time of the Antichrist’s coming and gives a summary of the events I’ve been blogging about in the last few posts. And it clearly states that GOD will send a delusion that will result in people believing Satan’s lies!

Why would God do this?

The same reason He executes ANY action in regards to unbelievers – Justice! The passage CLEARLY shows that the delusion God sends is a just response to the rejection of truth.

Those who did not embrace the truth of salvation but reveled in their sinfulness will justly be denied truth!

It seems that those who have heard the Gospel and actively rejected it will find in very difficult (if not impossible) to resist the lie of the false apocalypse and will willingly embrace Satan’s Kingdom!

They will believe the lie.

They will believe that all the demonic activity they have suffered is from God and they will accept Satan, his Antichrist, and the fallen angels as their saviors. They will choose Satan over God, and thus the mini-dispensation will fail.

And that means God can now begin the REAL Apocalypse…

But before we look at God’s true wrath and judgment. We will take an interlude for a few posts to examine the fascinating character whom we call “the Antichrist”. He is spoken of prominently in both the Old and New Testaments. In fact, he is the subject of more Biblical prophesy than any other “man” aside from Jesus Himself. Next time
